Clownfish I

Clownfish are emblems of cooperation between very different species.

Clownfish have a special symbiotic relationship with poisonous anemones. Darwinian evolution wrongly paints Nature as brutal competition or, as Alfred Tennyson put it, “Nature red in tooth and claw”. Nature has advanced much more by cooperation than competition and the nucleus, the mitochondrion and the chloroplast are evidence of some intimate relationships that have merged. Each was once a free living species that became a part of the cell.
