STRUCTURALLY SIMILAR. Apoptosome and inflammasome are both multimeric protein complexes that mediate the activation of specific caspases upon the onset of apoptosis and inflammation respectively. The central component of apoptosome or inflammasome is a tripartite scaffold protein.
