EMULATION. “According to the Church‐Turing thesis, a Turing machine can emulate any other Turing machine. The physical Church‐Turing thesis claims that every physically computable function can be computed by a Turing machine. This is the basis for brain emulation: if brain activity is regarded as a function that is physically computed by brains, then it should be possible to compute it on a Turing machine.”
