FRAGMENT FROM NATURE features the work of the geologist, the late Professor Warren Hamilton, who undertook a new and radical explanation for the Cambrian explosion some 600 million years ago, in an attempt to overturn dogmatic ideas prevalent at the time. The Cambrian explosion has always lacked a convincing story and this may be a compelling part of it, combined with global flooding wiping the older fossil record clean.
