My Wife's Left Ear

DEDICATION: A tribute to Dr. Luis Pareras. To be installed at Invivo Ventures, Barcelona, Spain.

This is my wife’s left ear, and so far at least, she has not missed it. Taking something out of context and out of scale always gives our habituation a real kick in the ass. Habituation is the dulling of sensual arousal to repeated stimuli. It is the reason we become dull-witted to the extraordinary wonders all around us. The message of this sculpture is that the awesome is abundant, if we but unlock our senses.
