PATHOGEN REMOVAL FROM WATER. Hospital wastewater effluent was screened for multi drug resistant bacteria and they were present in large numbers. A program was initiated to use phages to target these bacteria. This biocontrol method shows promise for reducing hospital emissions of pathogens resistant to both chlorine and multiple antibiotics.
