This is an urban myth that needs unpacking. It is predicated on the bloated carrying costs of big pharma. Big pharma has become very inefficient at discovery. Hundreds os small specialty pharma companies exist today that were started by a small Venture Capital cash infusion, and on average the total cash infused to get a drug to Proof of Concept (Phase II) is about 30 million USD. The world is changing. Please do not keep quoting these misleading statistics!
