CUSTOMER-CENTRIC is the emerging model of many types of traditionally product-centric businesses, just as Prof Chesbrough (father of Open Innovation) suggested; previously, the model was customers circling around a value chain. Now many organizations are circling the customer. This is paralleled by the emerging model in medical care to be patient-centric, rather than a passive patient circling around a medical care system. TECH CITY LONDON puts finalist's elevator pitches up for public viewing and votes. The democratization of candidate applications is so different from the discrete pitch in a plush VC office to a few cognisante. This is more akin to crowdsourcing and is a totally different animal that has a game show flavor. Unlikely to vanish, it is an emerging trend.
