CLOCK GENES AND SURVIVAL. “Given the global alterations of clock genes in cancer, clock genes could provide important insight for translational medicine. Here, we focused on clock genes that showed significant associations with patient survival, clinical stage, or tumor subtype. We identified 31 clock genes that were associated with overall patient survival in at least one cancer type.” https://lnkd.in/dT2NKaY View in LinkedIn

MASSIVE CORRELATIONS. “Among 481 compounds, we identified 329 compounds that have at least one significant correlation with clock genes, with 3,577 significant correlation pairs (Figure S7D). We found 163 compounds that showed significant correlation with at least 10 clock genes (Figure S7E), and 76 drugs are shared between the GDSC and CTRP databases. Among them, 53 drugs in both CTRP and GDSC have at least one pair that significantly correlates with clock genes. These results show the consistency of circadian effects on drug response.” https://lnkd.in/dT2NKaY View in LinkedIn

MULTIPLE EVENTS. "The transition to an aquatic life has been achieved by only 2% of the approximately 350,000 angiosperm species. Nevertheless, the evolutionary invasion of aquatic environments by terrestrial angiosperms is estimated to represent 50-100 independent events." https://lnkd.in/dh26Z3X View in LinkedIn

ALGAL JUMP. "Algae dominated the oceans of the precambrian time over 700 million years ago. Between 500 and 400 million years ago, some algae made the transition to land, becoming plants by developing a series of adaptations to help them survive out of the water." https://lnkd.in/d6dpu-q View in LinkedIn

CANDIDATE ALGAE. "Fossil and biochemical evidence indicates plants are descended from multicellular green algae. Various green algal groups have been proposed for this ancestral type, with the Charophytes often being prominently mentioned. Cladistic studies support the inclusion of the Charophytes (including the taxonomic order Coleochaetales) as sister taxa to the land plants." https://lnkd.in/d6dpu-q View in LinkedIn
