THE CRITICAL POINT. “The totality of the past is only frozen into reality at a particular point in spacetime to the extent that information or interactions have reached it, so the U-process always contains superpositions from the very distant past as well as the future.” https://lnkd.in/gDaxUYAS View in LinkedIn

INTERRUPTIONS. “An interaction need not be continuously in operation for the evolved microbiota to resume its performance after an interruption: they are singers that already know the song. Neither a composition-based ‘‘major transitions’’ nor a ‘‘levels of selection’’ approach will accommodate this model: songs are perfomed by—but do not comprise—their singers.” https://lnkd.in/dk3R9p6y View in LinkedIn

THE UNFOLDING NOW. “The U-process would permeate spacetime, providing every alternative possibility consistent with the most recent R-process, to be summed up in the next moment's R-process.” https://lnkd.in/gDaxUYAS View in LinkedIn

INTERLINKED METABOLISMS. “Because there’s a song there are singers: because there are singers, there’s a song. It is even more tempting to think this way when there is no macrobial host, as in some biofilms or indeed, perhaps, the biosphere as a whole. Shared metabolisms are part of the fabric of Nature.” https://lnkd.in/dk3R9p6y View in LinkedIn

THE NOW. “A pattern of waves will crawl across spacetime at the speed of light, eventually changing distant observers, whose perception of our present moment by means of their interception of this pattern, will vary radically depending upon their relative velocity.” https://lnkd.in/gDaxUYAS View in LinkedIn

The high speed AVE trains of Spain have these ingenious connectors between carriages that must accommodate movement left to right as well as up and down whilst providing stable passage. View in LinkedIn

NEW PHASE OF MATTER, “A time crystal, first proposed by physicist Frank Wilczek in 2012, is a phase of matter which repeats in time, similar to how a regular crystal's structure repeats in space.” https://lnkd.in/dN7r3JbS View in LinkedIn

4-D FACE OF THE PRESENT. “This front propagates outward from the Big Bang in each time direction. This front would be the forward edge of reality, constructing Einstein's "block time" behind it via the R-process of quantum state vector reduction.” https://lnkd.in/d4BvAHFn View in LinkedIn

PRESENT-ANTIPRESENT. “The STH legitimizes and provides symmetry to the present by providing an indistinguishable antipresent. The new picture of the present would be a 4-dimensional front of thickness along the time dimension at least equal to the Planck time.” (STH = Symmetrical Time Hypothesis). https://lnkd.in/gDaxUYAS View in LinkedIn

THE PROBLEM OF NOW. “Feynman saw his picture as a marriage of quantum theory and relativity. The present in the standard theory is a mystery. Can we illuminate it?” https://lnkd.in/gDaxUYAS View in LinkedIn
