MOOD MODULATION by tobacco is not new, starting with nicotine itself, and in the last two decades, by "beneficial additives". Although apologists often say that the levels of additives are not enough to be pharmacological, this is unknown in the burned state, especially with potential synergism with other ingredients. MENTHOL IS A MILD ANESTHETIC, masking harsh smoke effects on the new smoker's normal choke response to inhaling smoke. The FDA picked up on this intention and has been looking hard at mentholated cigarettes. View in LinkedIn
