"A SIGNIFICANT BREAKTHROUGH in carpet cloak design happened in 2012. Up to that time, all experiments had resulted in reaching only partial invisibility. Landy and Smith developed a two-dimensional cloak that allowed them to achieve almost full invisibility of a cylindrical object for the microwave frequency band." LARGE OBJECTS. "The first cloak worked only at a single microwave frequency. More recent cloaks work over the entire a range of optical frequencies but can only hide tiny objects over a limited viewing angle. Today...simple cloaks that hide huge objects over the entire optical spectrum, albeit with a significant compromise. One of their devices is big enough to cloak a person." WATER CLOAK. "By using water as the effective material and separated into several regions by glass sheets, a simplest and cheapest invisible device is realized. This device can hide macroscopic objects with large scale and is polarization insensitive. Owing to simple fabrication and easily acquisitive materials, our work can be widely applied in our daily life." https://lnkd.in/eyP6_vj View in LinkedIn

PROGRESS IN UNDER A DECADE. "The maximum size of an object which was successfully hidden in the experiment from electromagnetic fields using the wave flow method is currently six wavelengths. The perfect invisibility has not been achieved. However, it should be noted that researchers have significantly advanced in this field in comparison with the first realization of the cloaking device in 2006, at least in the microwave band." FRAGMENT IN NATURE. We have seen how plant roots have elaborate layered defensive systems to keep out microbial pathogens. At the same time, these same roots have developed intimate elaborate relationships with synergistic soil microorganisms. Mycorrhizal fungi and plant roots are deeply interdependent, and have maintained these relationships for millions of years. This is the topic for a couple of weekends. View in LinkedIn

"SYMBIOSIS as a source of selectable epigenetic variation. Evolutionary developmental biology is based on the principle that evolution arises from hereditable changes in development. Most of this new work has centered on changes in the regulatory components of the genome. However, recent studies...have shown that development also includes interactions between the organism and its environment." https://lnkd.in/ejR8YC4 View in LinkedIn
