SYNTHETIC ORGANIC CHEMICALS (SOCs) "are generally toxic and can have substantial health impacts from both acute (short-term) and chronic (long-term) exposure. Many are known carcinogens (cancer causing). GROUND-WATER IS A RICH SOUP of aqueous chemicals from natural and man-made sources, sometimes at appreciable levels. Many are part of the natural food chain of plants and microorganisms, and equally, but almost all are cumulative, and do not go away.
