PROTOTYPE HUMAN EMBRYO CLONED (May 20, 2013). "Given the nature of some of the manipulations involved, and the constitution of the resultant cell mass, it is not realistic to imagine that the amalgam they created would ever develop much beyond the stage they present."" "The work of techno-artists such as Stelarc, or techno-philosophers such as Stiegler and Haraway shouldn’t be reduced to a naïve prophecy of a post-flesh world in which man will eventually overcome his technological limitations. Instead, we’re better off seeing it as an exploration of the symbiotic relationship the human has always had with technology. In other words, it shows us technology as being an inseparable part of both ‘the human’ and 'the body'."" " http://lnkd.in/QCVg-U View in LinkedIn

BEAR WITH THE CYBORG STUFF: I am not naturally drawn to cyber-punk or post humanism, or sci-fi fantasy. Give me the classics. But the reality is that we are in an era of Transhumanism: "an ideology and movement which seeks to develop and make available technologies that eliminate aging and greatly enhance human intellectual, physical, and psychological capacities, in order to achieve a "posthuman future."(Wikipedia). But the fact of the matter is that Nature has already being doing massive biological experiments on all its life forms for billions of years through this fascinating thing called evolution. It is one of the most creative and innovative forces imaginable, and has created at least 9 million species of life, each one radically unique. " " http://lnkd.in/zeiJZF View in LinkedIn

LEGO FOR 3D PRINTING. “Can you 3D print an airplane?” While the researchers realized that 3D printing was an impractical approach at such a large scale, they wondered if it might be possible instead to use the discrete “digital” materials that they were studying. (From MIT’s wonderfully named Center for Bits and Atoms)."" " http://lnkd.in/j7Nism View in LinkedIn

FUTURIST REVIEW: "These posthumans will depend not only on carbon-based systems but also on silicon and other "platforms" which might be more convenient for different environ- ments, like outer space. All these new sentient life forms might be connected to become a global brain, a large interplanetary brain and even a larger inter- galactic brain. Intelligence will keep on evolving and will try to answer the old-age questions of life, the universe and everything."" " http://lnkd.in/FGKEvD View in LinkedIn
