THE FEAR OF AI IS A BIOLOGICAL QUESTION. Whether AI is an existential threat to humanity rests on a single question: can complex systems of innate materials gain the properties of living things, namely evolution, independence of reproduction, communication amongst themselves, and autonomy of intent?
