FECAL TRANSPLANTS (FMT). "The rationale behind FMT is simple: antibiotics and other factors disrupt the normal balance of colonic flora and reduce "colonization resistance", allowing pathogenic C. Difficle strains to grow...by reintroducing flora via donor feces, the imbalance can be corrected, the cycle interrupted, and normal bowel function re-established." https://lnkd.in/erygCxw View in LinkedIn

C. DIFFICILE FMT REVIEW. "In 317 patients treated across 27 case series and reports, FMT was highly effective, showing disease resolution in 92% of cases. DIY FMT AND CRAPSULES. "Their latest venture is in capsules containing faeces. Similar products have been trialled successfully by researchers at the University of Calgary and Ilan Youngster is currently working on a further study. Thomas Borody also uses them - he calls them "crapsules". Taking faecal tablets, although still revolting as a concept, is less invasive than a colonoscopy or enema." https://lnkd.in/e_6wSXz View in LinkedIn
