PUSH INNOVATION is an invention that looks for a market and applications. A Pull Invention is the result of finding an unmet need and solving it. The smartphone was a Push innovation. Most people did not know they needed such a device and few could have articulated the need. Google Glass feel more of a Push. 3D printing may have also been a Push. Applications are popping up everywhere, and some unanticipated (printing food in space). Push is an imaginative expansion of a technology; Pull is finding technology to solve an identified problem. ”
