METACOGNITION: collaborative open system research, effectively linking every megacomputer that can do a billion calculations a second into a single network? Well, perhaps wishful thinking. The universe has never had the sheer computational horsepower that we have today. We are only limited by the questions we can ask. Douglas Adams (Hitchhiker’s Guide) anticipated this conundrum, by reminding us that unless we understand the question, we will end up with the nonsense answer “42”.
