ANTIBIOTICS AND THE MICROBIOME IN BIRTH. “Antibiotics given in labour increased the incidence of late-onset serious bacterial infections in infants.” Antibiotics are also administered before a C-section. Given the importance of the early microbiome in early development, this appears to be a bad practice.
