THE OBVIOUS EXPERIMENT that appears lacking is to administer chlorinated water to a fed animal, and examine the gut fluids for disinfectant byproducts (DBPs). And then to a human after a range of different foods. It is highly probable that DBPs would be found, and given the volumes, in rather high concentrations. The same for steam from a shower and lung fluids.
