ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANT BACTERIA are selected for by DBPs, especially MX, because it induces faster mutations, which are the grist of fast evolution. “MX increased the resistance most observably in the selected DBPs, which was consistent with its mutagenic activity. The resistant mutants showed hereditary stability during 5-day culturing.” Combined with the general overuse of antibiotics, higher rates of mutations are a problem.
