HIGHLY MOBILE mRNA. “mRNA moves between host and parasitic plants as well as between heterografts. Recently a pioneering grafting approach identified a large population of 2,006 mobile mRNA species that were able to move between roots and shoots in grafted Arabidopsis ecotypes. Interestingly, these data suggest that a large percentage of mRNA can move against the direction of phloem flow.” Enormous wow on many levels.
