SEEDS. “The seed is the product of the fertilized ovule, which in gymnosperms is naked, being borne on the surface of the scales that comprise the cone, whereas in the angiosperms the seed is formed within an ovary. In time the seed will normally become separated from the parent and eventually may germinate to give a new individual.”
