LUMINOUS QUASARS. “A Closer Look at Two of the Most Luminous Quasars in the Universe. Ultraluminous quasars (M1450 ≤ −29) provide us with a rare view into the nature of the most massive and most rapidly accreting supermassive black holes (SMBHs). these two quasars provide support for theories that explain the existence of billion solar mass SMBHs ~700 million years after the Big Bang by moderate super-Eddington growth from standard SMBH seeds.” https://lnkd.in/ewtq3S5s View in LinkedIn

MOTHER QUASAR. “SMSS J2157 is the most luminous known quasar, with a 3000 Å luminosity of (4.7 ± 0.5) × 10(47)  erg s−1 and an estimated bolometric luminosity of 1.6 × 10(48) erg s−1, yet its Eddington ratio is only ∼0.4. Thus, the high luminosity of this quasar is a consequence of its extremely large BH – one of the most massive BHs at z > 4.” (BH = black hole). https://lnkd.in/eU2xwdUN View in LinkedIn

UNIKE PHYSICS. “Molecular biology is unquestionably a highly theoretical field or group of fields. It is safe to say that molecular biologists deal in large part with distinctly theoretical entities. Yet, I hold, controversially, the view that molecular biology contains no centrally unifying theory.” https://lnkd.in/eHuXs6h9 View in LinkedIn

MOST LUMINOUS QUASAR. “The measured Eddington ratio of 0.4 places SMSS J2157 within the typical distribution of luminous quasars, implying that the extreme nature of its luminosity is a consequence of its extraordinarily high BH mass.” (BH = black hole). https://lnkd.in/eU2xwdUN View in LinkedIn

THE EARLY UNIVERSE. “The discovery of highly luminous quasars at high redshifts (z > 6) suggests that black holes of masses around 10 billion solar masses existed in the early universe and the highest redshift quasar discovered so far is at z ∼ 7.” https://lnkd.in/dX4w36NJ View in LinkedIn
