READ THE PATENT OFFICE (www.uspto.gov)! This is a source of some 7 M inventions ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous. Cut through the formulaic language and get to the pure invention. A truly beautiful story of the power of modern science, and how a computer guy played a key role, by analysis of large DNA data sets, in stopping a superbug. This reads like a novel, and if you have the chance to share it with young people, I believe it is a potentially life changing inspirational story. As many companies implode due to EQ as due to other reasons. When evaluating a deal, of any sort, assess not only the IQ element (smarts, on target, all objective stuff) but also the EQ of the decision-maker. Without it you can end up in the schoolyard sandbox with a smart, but socially arrested counterpart driven by ego and a skewed view of the way the world operates. View in LinkedIn

A great summary of the emerging light at the end of the tunnel. Young biopharma startups may have more optimism. At the end of the day, the Crisis may have brought some fiscal and portfolio discipline, which is positive.
