EUROPE NEEDS MORE VENTURE FIRMS AND EARLY STAGE CAPITAL TO COMPETE WITH THE US which has run at 5X the EC level of investment for years, along with higher valuations. Either the EC must bite the bullet and either incentivize capital investment in early stage companies, or set aside funds to make public-private investments at a higher level.
