AMERICAN HEALTHCARE NEEDS A DOCTOR. When about half of bankruptcies in the US are due to medical costs, and a big chunk of the population cannot afford health insurance, the picture is grim. For one of the wealthiest nations on the planet, this makes a big statement. That doctors are fighting any efforts to change this broken system comes as no surprise, because they are key stakeholders, along with insurance companies and healthcare delivery enterprises that stand to experience the greatest change.
