IMPLANTED VISION CHIP has been approved in Europe and a different device is pending approval in the US. A tiny electronic chip that is implanted in the eye is on sale for the correction of degenerative visual defects. The European chip requires no camera, unlike the US system that has a glasses-mounted camera. The results vary widely from patient to patient.
