MEMORY DELETION may not be so simple, at least using one molecule dubbed the “memory engine”. While it could be beneficial to patients recovering from extreme traumas to delete a memory, long term memory has proved to be less fragile and more complex a system. Columbia’s Eric Kandel (Nobel for memory) is more sanguine about the plasticity of memories. And some recent drug studies show they can be deleted. ”
