ENGINEERED LIFE FORMS using artificial chromosomes inserted into all cells in a heterologous or autologous species has already been accomplished (mouse knock-in genes in mice, and human chromosomes in mice). This potentially goes far beyond the dream of gene therapy, to “enhanced living”, such as human memory, performance, physical traits, and sensory super-enhancement. Legislation and ethical concerns will never stop this exploitation in the far reaches of the globe.
