PHOTOSYNTHESIS is one of the crowning achievements of life on this planet, and provides clean fuel powered by just sunlight and water for most of the life forms on earth. This elegant mechanism is also remarkably adapted by various plant forms into variants. It is our challenge as humans to find cost-effective ways to employ this exquisite machinery to provide our clean fuel needs. A former initiative between the US and Japan needs to be revived. It is a project that needs scale, funding and national prioritization. ”
