GROUPS RISKING VITAMIN D DEFICIENCY. 1. Breastfed infants, as breastmilk does not contain enough vitamin D (is this new?). 2. Older adults, for various reasons. 3. People with limited sun exposure. 4. People with dark skin. 5. Fat malabsorption associated with some forms of liver disease, cystic fibrosis, celiac disease, and Crohn’s disease, as well as ulcerative colitis. 6. Obesity.
