FRAGMENT FROM NATURE continues from last weekend and ends this weekend on the view of astrophysicists on DNA. Biology badly needs a shot in the arm with this type of thinking, with the thought experiments, and wild calculations that physicists are wont to do. Biology has been stuck in stamp collecting for too long and has failed to either define its subject or, beyond evolution, come up with over-arching theories.
