SO ENDS this first of two weekends on a new paradigm of dressed photons with practical applications by an erudite Japanese team woking with a private company in electronics. Light is everywhere, but our grasp of the true nature of photons is still a long way away. That does not stop us using photonic technology for many applications. Equally, it is not necessary to understand the brain to hack it, despite declarations to the contrary.
