CALLING ET. "Prof. Warwick's own research, which led to him receiving a neural implant linking his nervous system bi-directionally with the internet. With this implant in place, neural signals were transmitted to various technological devices to directly control them, in some cases via the internet, and feedback to the brain was obtained from such stimuli as the fingertips of a robot hand, ultrasonic (extra-) sensory input and neural signals directly from another human's nervous system." https://lnkd.in/epG78N6 View in LinkedIn

CYBORGS IN SPACE. "Practical realisation of Cyborgs opens up significant new opportunities in many fields. In particular when it comes to space travel many of the limitations faced by humans, in stand-alone form, are transposed by the adoption of a cyborg persona. In this article a look is taken at different types of Brain-Computer interface which can be employed to realise Cyborgs, biology-technology hybrids." Inevitable solution to space exploration. https://lnkd.in/eMAs5uD View in LinkedIn

CULTURED DRIVER. "In this paper a look is taken at the relatively new area of culturing neural tissue and embodying it in a mobile robot platform—essentially giving a robot a biological brain. This has a potential major impact with regard to society and ethical issues and hence some initial observations are made. Some initial issues are also considered with regard to the potential consciousness of such a brain.” https://lnkd.in/ezN5q2X View in LinkedIn

NETWORKED BOTS. “Google is taking a different approach to training its robots – it’s letting them teach each other. Researchers at Google have released a report showing how they connected 14 robotic arms together and used convolutional neural networks to let them teach themselves how to pick things up. The approach mimics how young children learn between the ages of one and four years old, and is essentially helping the robots to develop reliable hand-eye coordination.” http://thenextweb.com/google/2016/03/10/technological-singularity-ftw/ View in LinkedIn

MACHINE TEACHING MACHINE. "Warwick carried out the first robot learning experiment across the internet. One robot, with an Artificial Neural Network brain in Reading, UK, learnt how to move around. It then taught, via the internet, another robot in SUNY Buffalo New York State, USA, to behave in the same way. The robot in the USA was therefore not taught or programmed by a human, but rather by another robot based on what it itself had learnt." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Warwick View in LinkedIn

CULTURED RAT BRAIN. "The functional networks of cultured neurons exhibit complex network properties similar to those found in vivo. Starting from random seeding, cultures undergo significant reorganization during the initial period in vitro, yet despite providing an ideal platform for observing developmental changes in neuronal connectivity, little is known about how a complex functional network evolves from isolated neurons. In the present study, evolution of functional connectivity was estimated from correlations of spontaneous activity." https://lnkd.in/ef8-NCB View in LinkedIn

RAT BRAIN CULTURES. "Connecting the cells to electrodes that transmit signals from ultrasonic sensors in the robot has shown how the culture begins to act like the brain of a living organism, learning how to take in information, make decisions and interact with its environment." https://lnkd.in/d7uaGCD View in LinkedIn
