MEANINGLESS NEGATIVITY. It has often been said that all this nonsense about brain uploading is not possible until we understand the human brain. But there are innumerable examples of capturing phenomena without any clue of how, and the brain-to-brain experiments are stellar examples. EXPONENTIAL SPEED. "When he started five years ago...the technique was so slow it would have taken several centuries to generate images for a cubic millimeter of brain—about one thousandth the size of a mouse brain and a millionth the size of a human one. Now Lichtman can do a cubic millimeter every couple of years. This summer, a new microscope will reduce the timeline to a couple of weeks.
