SO ENDS this weekend on the theme of symmetry in body plans of animals. It illustrates that if you take the seemingly merest topic in nature, there is a full universe in that morsel. Grown men have dedicated their lives to studying this topic, concentrating the full force of their considerable energy and intellect on figuring out the distribution and purpose of body plan symmetry, leaving a delightful legacy for the rest of us mortals to enjoy.
