GLUE FOR BINDING GOLD TO BOOKS. “Take the bladder of a fish, known as the sturgeon, wash it three times in lukewarm water, cut it up into pieces and, putting it in a very small pot with water, allow it to soften overnight. In the morning...test the glue.” https://lnkd.in/d7yzXt5 View in LinkedIn

GRINDING COLORS INTO SAP GREEN. “Take the gum which oozes from the cherry or plumb tree, cut it up very small, and place it in an earthenware pot. Pour in plenty of water, and place it in the sun, or in the winter over a fire until the gum melts. Then strain it through a cloth and, with this (drying) medium, grind the colours.” https://lnkd.in/d7yzXt5 View in LinkedIn

STRANGE MATTER and exotic stars section has now ended, but undoubtedly the saga will continue to unfold. Next under consideration is black holes. What has been clear about the last topic is how truly Alice in Wonderland the cosmos is, and how little we know about it. The states of matter under extreme conditions are unmeasurable today and only really being explored in mathematical models, since labs cannot come close to replicating the awesome forces in the universe. JUST AS DARWIN DID NOT KNOW DNA. “Einstein was unaware of the ultra-dense stars that created new forms of matter, and after their discovery, these needed modifications of general relativity to describe them. Here is one such modification, tested by actual data.” A beautiful story. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0577907319309773 View in LinkedIn

THE BIG BANG. “Within the first second, energy itself shatters into distinct forces including electromagnetism and gravity. And energy does something else quite magical: it congeals to form matter -- quarks that will create protons and leptons that include electrons. And all of that happens in the first second.” https://www.ted.com/talks/david_christian_the_history_of_our_world_in_18_minutes?utm_campaign=tedspread&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=tedcomshare View in LinkedIn
