INTERNAL CLOCK. “A more interesting thing to do is to use the black hole itself as an “internal” clock. We assume that the (pure) quantum state of the black hole is characterized by an uncertainty in energy ∆E equal to the variance of the energy in the thermal state.” https://lnkd.in/d3Fw6gf View in LinkedIn

BLACK HOLE TIME. “There are two kinds of clocks we can appeal to in studying the growth of wormholes. The first are clocks external to the CFT; in other words clocks which are not themselves part of the CFT. They can have unlimited accuracy for arbitrary lengths of time. One interpretation of the volume is that it is equal to the age of the black hole (as recorded by the boundary clock), multiplied by the area of the horizon.” (CFT = a thermal state of a boundary). https://lnkd.in/d3Fw6gf View in LinkedIn

TRANSITIONS IN SPACETIME. “There are very good reasons to think that the classical description of a black hole interior must break down at some exponentially large time (by exponential I mean in the entropy of the black hole). If the considerations of this paper are correct the breakdown is marked by a fairly sudden transition.” https://lnkd.in/d3Fw6gf View in LinkedIn

LIFE WILL FIND A WAY. “Life near sunlike stars most likely began over the most recent few billion years in cosmic history. In the future, however, it might continue to emerge on planets orbiting dwarf stars, like our nearest neighbor, Proxima Centauri, which will endure hundreds of times longer than the sun’s.” (Professor Avi Loeb, former Chair of Astronomy, Harvard). https://lnkd.in/dqeyJNq View in LinkedIn

FOSSILIZED IMPACT DEBRIS. “Two gigantic blobs of dense rock hundreds of miles tall sit deep inside Earth. New research suggests these blobs are remnants of a planet that hit Earth 4.5 billion years ago. The collision of Earth and this ancient planet, called Theia, may have helped create the moon. Those pieces are millions of times larger than Mount Everest in terms of volume.” https://lnkd.in/d-Hsyqs View in LinkedIn
