Important to remember this: workaholic lives, mega stress, being bombarded by the world is not the only option for your life on this small blue planet. This has become the paradigm for the US, and I am sad about that. The very concept of balance is not even a serious consideration." It is really heartening to see rare diseases attract Pharma investments with increasing frequency. This trend promises future relief for the patients with these afflictions. The big issue remaining is how society may reward these developments without the need for drug pricing to be the only solution, where the patient and their family bear the brunt of the reward system for innovation. Mechanism of Action (MOA) questions in drug discovery quite often smack of either hubris (think complex world) or forgetfulness (think history). As the world shrinks, the Internet flattens it. It was rather revolutionary sone decade ago when MIT was among the first to put courses online. Then recently China declared an initiative to bring world class names to create brand new top universities in China from scratch. No 500 year traditions.
