BIOSPRING BARCELONA is a testament to the status of the biopharma industry in Catalunya, and to the years of very successful public and private initiatives and investment in the sector. I have posted this before but it bears repeating: CATALUNYA FEELS LIKE BOSTON IN 1989, when the biotech industry took off in the US. I was there. It has infrastructure, universities, an entrepreneurial culture, and sources of early capital. There is a tangible buzz of excitement here. This city is going to make a mark in biopharma history.
