THE CRISIS has converged with the fruits of the great Catalan social experiment, the creation of a Knowledge Economy, after over a decade and billions invested. This turbulent juncture has only one avenue to avoid the death of the countless SME tech companies spawned: that with scale and speed, these cash-starved companies quickly learn how to tap into global markets for capital. This will take creativity and boldness. Unless the moment is grasped, a decade may be lost. There is too much at stake not to act.
