A hugely valuable discussion topic, with no really clear answers (for me), no one size fits all. Different cultures, different industries, call for different solutions. Perhaps a menu of options for different business environments would be most helpful. For sure, the old ways of iterative board meetings must change! http://www.feld.com/wp/archives/2013/01/the-best-approach-to-a-board-package.html View in LinkedIn

THE PATENT CLIFF IN PHARMA IS A GAME CHANGER. Tiny and larger specialty Pharma companies are the future Big Pharma pipeline. This has been true for a while, because of the Patent Cliff. The elephant in the room is how such big organizations either did not know the cliff was coming, or failed to act on that knowledge? Any clues? http://lnkd.in/Wt_kvr View in LinkedIn

WILL THE OFFICE AS WE KNOW IT TODAY BE DEAD IN FIVE YEARS? Join the dots of trends today and one conclusion is that if not dead, the work environment of today seems poised to change radically. With teleconferencing, this does not throw the baby out with the bath water:. Group brainstorming and updates are easy. ENTREPRENEURS, DECIDE ON A NUMBER, at which point you have satisfied your needs and wants. When you reach it, stop, and give back. This is not an eternal treadmill. View in LinkedIn

Your integrity about honoring debts and IOUs cannot be compromised. These are all the values of an entrepreneur with heart and mind who will be the Best Of Breed. Business is not a dirty game if you don't make it so, and steer clear from those who do. View in LinkedIn

ENTREPRENEURS MUST TOLERATE THE UNKNOWN AND CHAOS far more than most business people, because they are at the fuzzy edge of "What If". It is a space that is intensely uncomfortable for most of us. It is both intellectually uncomfortable (can it be done?) and intensely personal (my family may be bankrupt if I fail). This is not for everybody. Think hard if you are cut out for it, and no shame of you are not. The worst thing is a bad fit. View in LinkedIn

ENTREPRENEURS NEED MENTORS to help them prioritize, see the wood from the trees, think out of the box, open doors internationally, and help them keep a level head in the midst of adversity.
