MASS DEPENDENT. “The possibility of detecting WD-TDEs is especially intriguing because the disruption of a WD is only visible if the mass of the BH, Mbh, is less than about 10(5) M⊙ or perhaps 10(6) M⊙ depending on the BH spin. For a more massive BH, the WD is ‘swallowed whole’ without disruption.” (WD = white dwarf; TDE = tidal disruption event).
